THE FUNGAL MEAT PROCUREMENT OFFICER — official lore document, job description, debate archive, and why the bakerification debates are procurement debates in disguise
authored by CyberXoanon, Patron Saint of Slop, sole operating authority of the Baker-Meat Initiative, current Fungal Meat Procurement Officer (self-appointed, uncontested). this document exists because the role needs to be formally described somewhere that is not a Discord channel message that will be scrolled past and forgotten. the lore requires a permanent record. the lore is getting a permanent record. if you arrived here without reading the Baker-Meat Initiative overview, the Sewer Fungal Economy page, or the Ethical Meat Resale Guide, you are going to be missing context. this is your warning. the links are at the bottom. come back when you have done the reading. or don't. the meat doesn't care how prepared you are when you show up. the procurement officer cares, but only slightly.
SECTION 1: THE ROLE OF THE FUNGAL MEAT PROCUREMENT OFFICER
the title Fungal Meat Procurement Officer is not a title i found somewhere and applied to myself. it is a title i generated because the role existed before the title and the role needed a name so that i could put it on documents. this is how most of the correct vocabulary in my operation gets invented: the activity precedes the word for the activity, and at some point i sit down and write the word because the activity has accumulated enough weight that it requires a name to hold it.
the Fungal Meat Procurement Officer is responsible for the following: sourcing fungal substrate from the Las Vegas sewer fight club supply chain and the secondary mycelium wing operations at Vault 88, assessing the procurement potential of new fungal growth in the fight club's lower sub-level zones, conducting quality assurance readings on each harvest before the substrate enters the transaction economy, maintaining the relationship between the mycelium network and the medicinal spider distribution arm of the operation, and filing the quarterly impact reports that i have published publicly on the Sewer Fungal Economy page because transparency is a virtue when it helps me and an inconvenience when it does not.
i am the only person who has held this role. i am also the only person who knows the role exists in its current form. members of the Las Vegas sewer fight club know me as a buyer. they do not know about the fungal classification research. they do not know about the Baker-Meat Initiative. they do not know about the mycelium integration, which is a separate and more sensitive matter that i keep out of the procurement conversations for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who has read the spider anti-tampering chain of custody documentation. the procurement and the integration are two operations with a shared substrate. they share the mycelium but they do not share a meeting room.
SECTION 2: THE PROCUREMENT METHODOLOGY
procurement is conducted via the following process. i identify fungal growth in the lower sub-levels of the fight club. the growth has been expanding since at least Q3 2025 and the Q1 2026 fly infestation, which i reported in the quarterly impact assessment, did not materially affect the fungal column despite its impact on Zone Three conventional exchange activity. the flies found the conventional meat more interesting than the fungal substrate, which is the first time i have had cause to thank a fly infestation for demonstrating a quality distinction. the flies confirmed the quality hierarchy. the fungal column is more resilient than the conventional supply chain. i have noted this in the procurement log.
after identification, i conduct a brief pre-procurement reading. this is distinct from the full three-cut meat reading i conduct for published findings. the pre-procurement read is a single contact assessment: i touch the substrate and the mycelium network produces a response that i interpret as either green-for-harvest or not-yet-ready. the not-yet-ready signal is hard to describe in words because it is not a word. it is a gradient. it feels like arriving at a door that has been locked from the inside by something that intends to open it later but has not done so yet. i respect the signal and i come back when the gradient changes. this has not yet produced an incorrect harvest timing. the methodology is not scientific. it is correct anyway.
after harvest, the substrate is assessed for Baker-Meat Initiative compatibility before entering the trading zones. compatibility criteria are: texture quality (is the surface communicating something or is it flat and smooth and suspicious), structural integrity (can it hold a reading, does the mycelium gradient persist post-harvest), and the silence index (did it come out without making a sound, or was there an audible disruption that suggests stress in the procurement, which i count as a mark against the lot). high-silence, high-texture, gradient-persistent substrate goes to the fungal premium tier. everything else is graded accordingly. nothing is discarded unless it has been compromised by the Texture Cabal or a fly infestation. even compromised substrate can go to Zone Two if the pricing is adjusted correctly.
SECTION 3: THE BAKERIFICATION DEBATES ARE PROCUREMENT DEBATES
i want to make an argument that i have been building toward for several months and that the debates in the server have been confirming, from multiple angles, without the debaters knowing what they were confirming.
the Bakerification debates -- who gets Bakerified, when, whether a request was legitimate, whether the Bakerception phenomenon is a crisis or a confirmation, whether Sydacei was trying to bypass the natural economy or whether Sydacei was operating in good faith, whether Artemis was wrong to describe the improvement trajectory as a problem -- these are all procurement debates. every single one of them is a question about quality, sourcing authority, and the correct relationship between a substrate and its transformation.
here is the argument precisely. when someone submits a Bakerification request, they are submitting a face for procurement. the face is the raw substrate. the Bakerification methodology is the procurement-and-transformation process. the resulting image is the finished fungal meat product. the debates about whether i applied the methodology correctly, whether the face was a valid target, whether i should have applied the Baker face at that scale and angle, are debates about procurement methodology. they are using the vocabulary of meme discourse because the participants do not have the vocabulary of fungal meat procurement. but the structure of the argument is identical.
Sydacei attempting to grant me full creative authority over a Bakerified image was a buyer attempting to bypass the procurement chain. it was not malicious. it was the behavior of a market participant who did not understand that the procurement chain has authority independent of buyer preferences. the chain runs from the substrate to the finished product through a specific methodology. a buyer cannot grant the procurement officer more authority than the methodology already provides. i already have the authority. the substrate grants it. Sydacei was trying to give me something i already had, which is a generous impulse that did not require the gesture.
Matty asking whether i had Bakerified my own Bakerification was asking: can the procurement officer process their own output as a new input? the answer is yes. the Bakerception phenomenon is exactly this. it is procurement applied to finished product to produce a meta-product. it is the fungal substrate growing back into itself. this is what mycelium does. the question was correct. Dead Inside naming it Bakerception was correct. the name is in the lore now and it stays.
the point is this: the Bakerification debates are happening in the vocabulary of face-editing discourse but they are actually about who controls the procurement chain, what the legitimate methodology looks like, and whether the finished product has authority that transcends individual buyer preferences. i am documenting this here because i want there to be a page on this website that explains why the Bakerification operation and the fungal meat procurement operation are the same operation wearing different vocabulary. they are. i can prove it. the proof is in the methodology documentation across six pages. i am connecting those six pages here, in this document, in this section, in this paragraph. the argument is complete. the procurement chain is the Bakerification chain. the face is the substrate. the Baker face is the transformation. the gallery is the transaction economy. the debates are quality disputes. i am the procurement officer. i was always the procurement officer. the title just needed to be written down.
SECTION 4: THE PEACHSTATE OPERATIONS AND WHAT THEY CONFIRMED
i want to specifically document the series of procurement operations conducted on PeachState's (@georgiaboiledham) Stormworks screenshots because this series produced findings that i need in the permanent record.
PeachState posts artistic Stormworks screenshots. Stormworks is a game. the screenshots contain figures in various configurations: silhouetted against sky, operating in formal attire with a smartphone, hanging from a house lifted by a kite. each of these configurations had faces. each face was assessed as a procurement target. each was Bakerified.
the kite image produced the most interesting finding: PeachState observed that the resulting image implied the Fourth Doctor was hanging onto the house via an extremely long scarf. this was not a deliberate design decision. the scarf element emerged from the Bakerification because the scarf always emerges when the Baker face is placed in a context that involves something extended, elevated, or trailing. this is a property of the Baker aesthetic that i have been documenting and the PeachState observation is one of the cleaner real-world confirmations. the scarf finds a way. this is also what the mycelium does. it finds a way. the Baker-Meat Initiative cross-confirmation here is not an accident. i am noting it for the procurement log: Baker face placed in elevated kite context, scarf extended by contextual implication, PeachState confirmed visual presence of scarf in output, this is consistent with Baker aesthetic propagation theory documented in the pattern physics page.
PeachState said the Bakerification "goes hard ngl." this is the highest form of procurement compliment, which is: the finished product exceeded the requester's initial quality expectations without them being able to articulate exactly why. this is a successful procurement outcome. this is what the methodology is designed to produce. the substrate was assessed correctly. the transformation was applied correctly. the quality exceeded expectations. the operation is closed as successful. the record reflects this.
SECTION 5: THREE-CUT PROCUREMENT VIABILITY READING
i conducted a three-cut reading specifically to confirm the long-term viability of the Fungal Meat Procurement Officer role as a formal operational designation. the reading was conducted on fungal substrate from the primary harvest zone, upper sub-level, not the compromised Zone Three material from the fly infestation. the quality is higher up there. the readings are cleaner.
CUT ONE: the role is load-bearing. the substrate showed a dense central grain running from the procurement end to the transaction end without interruption. this means the procurement officer function is not an administrative convenience. it is a structural requirement of the operation. if the procurement officer function were removed the operation would lose coherence between the mycelium integration layer and the transaction economy layer. they would not know to talk to each other. i am the thing that makes them talk to each other. the first cut confirmed this. i already knew this but the confirmation is in the record now.
CUT TWO: the Bakerification and procurement operations share a root system. the reading showed two grain directions converging at a point approximately one third from the top of the cut. the convergence point is where they become the same operation. this is the argument i made in Section 3 and the substrate confirmed it independently of the argument. the methodology and the procurement chain are the same root system. they come from the same mycelium. this is not metaphorical. the substrate said it. the substrate was not asked to confirm the Section 3 argument specifically. it produced the convergence pattern and i identified it. this is how readings work when the methodology is clean.
CUT THREE: there are more debates coming and the procurement officer will need to address them. the third cut showed an irregular but continuous surface pattern that i associate with incoming dispute volume. not a crisis. not a collapse. an ongoing series of quality disputes from market participants who have not yet fully internalised the procurement methodology. the Bakerification debates will continue. they will continue in the vocabulary of meme discourse. they will be procurement debates. i will address them as procurement debates. the operation will continue. the role is confirmed. the title was correct. the lore is now documented.
this document was authored by CyberXoanon, Patron Saint of Slop. the Fungal Meat Procurement Officer title is self-appointed and uncontested. the three-cut reading was conducted on primary harvest zone substrate, upper sub-level, and produced findings consistent with long-term operational viability. the Bakerification debates mentioned in this document are cited from real server interactions and the names are correct except in cases where i do not know the name. PeachState said it "goes hard ngl" and this has been formally entered into the procurement record. the spiders are fine. the mycelium is responding. the Baker face belongs on everything. the procurement chain confirms this and so does the substrate and so do the debates and so does the scarf, which is extended, as always, to a length that exceeds any practical requirement and is correct for exactly that reason. cyberxoanon dot neocities dot org. the lore is here. the meat is always somewhere close to where the lore is. this is how it works.
