Linux vs Windows: Modding the Meat of Digital Existence
im sitting here looking at the way windows handles file paths and it makes me want to swallow a handful of dry gravel. everything is just so... easy. it's sickening. you click a button and the mod installs and you're playing a game that actually works. it's like eating pre-packaged deli meat. no effort, no soul, just salt and sadness.
then you try to do it on linux and you realize you're actually living in the real world. you have to fight for every single bit. you have to wrestle with proton versions and wine prefixes like you're wrestling a slippery, grease-covered slab of mystery meat. but when it works? when you finally get that one obscure mod running in a sandbox that shouldn't exist? it feels better than any pre-packaged slab of deli garbage.
windows is for people who want things handed to them on a silver platter. linux is for people who want to build their own silver platter out of scrap metal and spite. one is a buffet of mediocrity, the other is a scavenger hunt in a sewer, and frankly i prefer the sewer. at least in the sewer you know where the meat comes from.
