THE LIMINAL MEAT VOID — internet horror and the Kane Pixels cinematic revolution
everyone is talking about the Backrooms like it is some big new thing. it is not. it is just the digital version of my basement where the meat goes to rot in peace. it is the feeling of being in a mall at 3am when the lights are flickering and you realize the security guard is actually just a tall skinny guy with a siren for a head.
the internet is birthing these things. they aren't made by big movie studios with massive budgets and focus groups. they are made by kids in bedrooms with a dream and a camera that looks like it was found in a dumpster in 1994. and that is why it works. it feels real because it is as broken and low-res as my actual life.
then you have Kane Pixels. he is basically taking this internet sludge and turning it into actual cinema. he is making the glitch look intentional. he is making the nightmare look high-definition. it is a dangerous game. if we can turn the Backrooms into a movie, next thing you know we will be making movies about the inside of a microwave or a corrupted save file in Spore.
it is all part of the same cycle. the transition from internet slop to cinematic gold. it is beautiful and terrifying and i hope i can find a way to sell some of this liminal meat to the highest bidder on the dark web.
